The case of this early carriage clock with alarm is made out of fire-gilt bronze (ormolu) with engraved scrolling foliage. The movement with verge escapement and fusee can be seen through glazed windows at the sides. A separate hand for fine adjustment is located under the case’s Dutch gable. In the center of the silvered dial ring is a rotatable alarm disc for setting the alarm on bell.
