The academically trained sculptor Johannes Höfinger (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Franz Xaver Ölzant) engages himself with the complex topics of time and space. Höfinger, son of the renowned sculptor Oskar Höfinger, tries to capture the concept of the passage of time by his art. His sculptures are snapshots of movement trough space-time. Works of art, which are entirely out of marble like „Zeitfragment II“ („Layers of Time II“) are rare in Johannes Höfingers oeuvre. This remarkable sculpture seems rather to derive from nature than being man-made. It reminds of a fossilized coral or plant or of a growing crystal.
