The sculpture “Erhebung” (“Rising”) was devised by Oskar Höfinger in 1986 for the “Weisser Hof” in Klosterneuburg in Lower Austria, where it was displayed as a monumental marble statue. The figure conveys man’s determination to rise up through his own power. In 2013, the first cast of this size was made in bronze. In terms of representing the male principle, “Rising” represents the perfect counterpart to the female sculpture “Coquette”.
