The sculpture „Folies Bergère“ was designed by the renowned Austrian sculptor Oskar Höfinger during his time in Fritz Wotruba’s master class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. It is an early example of the artist’s famous „crystalline forms“, which are characterized by stereometric shapes and fragmented surfaces. This variant of the sculpture „Folies Bergère“ is called the „Golden Series“ because of its brightly shining surface of polished bronze.
