“A year later, I visited Corsica again, but this time not the south with the heavily stratified limestone cliffs of Bonifacio, but the northwest of the island, the red porphyry rocks of L’ille rousse or La Scandola. Bebop was the music that I listened to in my late forties, […] that was, for me, a strong organizing force and at the same time a synonym for liberation by the Americans. Reminiscent of this time and the cliffs of Corsica in mind, the series KORSICA BEBOP was created.” (Markus Prachensky, 2008)

Two trips to Corsica in 2007 and 2008, inspired Prachensky to create “Korsika Bebop”. The starting point for his thrilling compositions is the landscape, but he does not translate this “motif” directly, but rather the associated emotions and colors find their expression in his paintings. The color combination of the red of the rocks with the strong violet of the blossoming lavender and the shapes that evoke the rhythm of Bebop complete a harmonious, bodacious art experience here.
