Beside the deep glowing light of the afternoon the light of the moon is one of Franz Richard Unterbergers favored atmospheric pictures. Even in his late night and early morning landscapes he uses soft and warm colors. Sybille-Karin Moser describes the effect of Unterberger`s atmospheric views as follows: “The landscape dressed in festival light is shown in a way where sorrows and the stress of a day finally come to a rest. In this specific ideal situation the landscape is the mediator for a most desired mood of the viewer. Here he can rest in the picture and let the soul swing.” (S. K.
