Eichstätt/Bavaria, third quarter of the 18th century
- carved, mounted and gilt wood, table top: drop-marble of Adnet
- 31½×40×23¼ in
This beautiful Rococo console derives from the residence of the prince-bishop in Eichstätt/Bavaria (original inventory label) and was created during the third quarter of the 18th century. This elegant piece of furniture is made out of carved wood, which is painted white with red and blue color accents and partly gilt. Between the two curved table legs with lion feet is an open work shell-shaped rocaille, an ornament which also decorates the apron.
