The Roman god Mercury is equal to the Greek god Hermes. The messenger of the gods is depicted holding a caduceus and wearing a winged helmet and winged shoes. He is also known as patron of the merchants.
The carved figure of Mercury has a particularly aesthetic and elegant posture, the cloth folded in numerous pleats is draped around the figure and clock.
