Exceptionally prestigious picture clock with very refined quality in its depiction. Hoffmeister skillfully composed the ideal landscape as the backdrop for his detailed, vital staffage of figures; the dial integrated into the church tower, the idyllic farmhouses, the river and – lying in an atmospheric mist – the lake, the grazing cattle, and the house of a beekeeper, where hikers stop to ask for directions. This monumental picture clock shows the wealth and abundance of the Alps, a landscape flowing with milk and honey.
